Ive got a 1600 engine from a Vauxhall Nova GTE
The engine is currently being used in my GSI but I?ve just bought a 2.0 16 valve engine to put in.
The sale includes all of the following:
> Engine
> ECU
> Loom
> Gear box
> Alternator
> Starter motor
> Exhaust manifold
> Inlet manifold
> Air flow meter
> Throttle body
> Drive shafts
> Bosch super 4 spark plugs
> Ignition leads
> Coil
> Modulator/amplifier
All of which are already assembled so there is no need to rebuild the engine.
(If there?s anything I?ve not listed please let me know)
When I bought the engine 8 months ago it had done 64k miles and the head gasket had gone.
Whilst the engine was apart all of the air inlet ducts were cleaned, inside the cylinder head has been cleaned, injectors were cleaned, the head was skimmed, all new gaskets, head bolts etc. It was also given new water pump, cam belt, complete engine flush, oil filter, Castrol GTE oil, Bosch super 4 spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, ignition leads and modulator.
All of the timing etc has been set up correctly and its had a full engine tune at Slater?s Vauxhall costing ?200.
My 2.0 16v engine is now rebuilt and ready to go in but at the moment the 1600 is still in the car and can be seen/heard running.
There?s no smoke (except on cold mornings of course), no knocks, no rattles. In fact it is a very good engine.
Now the bad news.
The only thing wrong with it is a dent in the sump. It looks like it was jacked up by the sump by a previous owner. But this has never caused me any problems. Looks like it could do with a new washer on the sump plug as there is some oil leakage, 12p from Vauxhall. But like I said, it?s never caused me any problems.
