but we are not looking at them from the same direction, but they do look different. the throttle mech looks differnt on both and the vacum pipes are differnt also. so they are differnt

looks to me like the bottom one is flipped 180degrees

we're looking at plenum end of the bottom one and air filter end of he top one

Looks like there should as the thottle linkage is on opposite sides and the pipe things are all in different places by the looks.
