mk 2s have a spare socket destined for it in the fuse box (designed for the sunroof and heated seats on continental models, and i ran both with no problems from it)

Run the wire up the a pillar

there isnt one.
To be honest, i did it three years ago, and sold the car 2 years ago so any notes i made will have been binned
In the back of the haynes it shows which fuse box number and the wiring diagram for it.
Not hard

you dont need a guide and you dont need the extra wire from the fuse box. Remove interior light. Remove the winding handle from sunroof and the plasic surround. Then remove the metal shaped thing where the handle goes in which is held in by 2 screws. Now bolt up the electric unit and attach the two wires, you will need to then break into the wires for the interior light, you can use scotchlok's for this. Then refit the plastic shroud and interior light into it.

Hope that is of some use to you

Chris
