rush job took 4 of us 4 and 1/2 hours to have a 1.2i engine out and a 1.4sr in. had it running ... sort of lol

it can be done in a day easy. depends how desperate you are

4 days! jesus they must be really lazy or crippled.

There are about 8 wires to connect up, 4 hoses and a few other things, we have had 2 blocks out and 1 back in in about 4 hours. Also a headgasket change in around 30min. So that is 4 and a half hours if you have to take the 1.4 engine out too.

Try it your self, just need a couple of jacks and axle stands then some spanners.

i bet the 4 days will be till it ll be ready to pick up/go... he wont be working on it full time or the bill would be about ?1000+ just labour, he'll be fitting it around other jobs!

I have done GTE out and GTE back in in around 4 hours, thats with two post ramps and air tools though. With a few fag breaks too, and cam belt change

The mechanic dont get paid ?1000, he will get about ?5 an hour! the rest goes on paying bills/overheads, ie rent, rates, heating, electric, the bosses profit!!! believe me you dont really want a job as a mechanic...

if he is a proper mechanic then he should charge at least ?25 an hour. About 1/4 of that will be to cover overheads.
