right then, the other day i went over a speed bump (slow) and the stereo just cut out (no sound),
the stereo turns on but theres no sound comeing from the speakers.

i checked all they connections and they seem fine, fidled with them earlier tested it and it worked for about 10 seconds then just cut out and made like a wierd noise from the speakers, but the stereo was still on.

iv put a new fuse in and it hasnt made a difference, and it isnt the speakers cause there fairly new.

does that sound like somthing to do with the wires or conections?

if you have a multi meter check for continuity down the speaker wires and other wires that way you can rule out any broken cables

dont wanna sound dumb or any thing but is a multy meter one of those hand held things that you check volts etc on?

if so no i havent.

anything else i should try? or will i need a multy meter.

yeh mate - a multimeter is a thingy you check voltage on :D

Set it to measure resistance (ohms), and place one probe at either end of the wire you want to check, and if it gives you a reading (should be really low) then the wire isnt broken.

Better still, get one that gives an audible beep, and if the wire you are testing causes the multimeter to beep then it isnt broken.

Obviously then just replace any broken wires..
