Coooool 8) We're all big kids at heart. I used to be into model planes.... But got annoyed cause I kept crashing them!

What sort of speeds does yours go (when geared up for it) and has it got one of those 3 speed auto boxes ect? give us the spec.

Cool stuff Rick.

Rick helped me decide which Nitro Car to get. Alex, Cambs is all very good until it meets a bumpy surface, you want an off-road one, much better :D

Racing is completely different to what you would expect..

Its essentially a form of motorsport, to most people there just toys but when you actually get involved it gets proper expensive and technical.

Remember doing the 1/10th scale saloon nationals a few years back, the top guys were running tyres every run.. Your probably looking at about ?40 for a set of slicks back then.. and they would use 5/6 sets just on race day!

I used to just use my mates cast offs as he would only chuck them after each run otherwise!

At the euros i ran new tyres ever run and they are ?50 per set, so thats ?450 quids worth of tyres in one meeting! Rick

I Used to race at Stafford and Ashby 1/10th electric. Great fun but bloody expensive. Decided in end to spend the money on my Nova!!
Am thinking of buying a Nitro truck for just messing about in street with.
Was quite good in my day but to old now, the reactions not quite whot they should be!!

While we are on the subject, I have a few RC cars for sale:

Tamiya TL01 Scooby 4WD, all gear to run spare battery and speed charger, runs an electronic speed control (?50!) fully ballraced and built by me!. Also have Tamiya spare chassis and swingarm spares. The shell is a bit tatty and I have a thing about keeping the shells.

Kyosho Super Ten Scooby, used occasionally, a bit dirty and the main drive gear is plastic and has sheared off all the teeth. It's a very good car, nice to drive and it **king flys. 4 wheel drive too, using belts not prop.

Offers

(Sorry admin but it seems a good oppurtunity to slam in an ad.)

Its a scaled down version to what you do with your car

Rick Draper

all seems very sad to me

What is sad is the fact that both my electric 1/10 tourer and my 1/8th scale buggy both have more power and go faster than your big car    Rick

Stuart

al remember who suggested that idea ;)

ewww rick its electric?!?!?! you big homo lol

if the battery dies on the reciever of a glow fuel car then the throttle can stick open and then you have to wait for the fuel to run our, or you have a failsafe that shuts the throttle etc. the electric ones should just stop

just because I don't agree with everyone else! Go get a box of tissues to wipe your tears pal.

Whats 30K on a Nova got to do with anything? Good for him if he wants to spend that on his Nova.

Sorry but I cant get excited about racing RC cars. simple as. And yes I have raced a 'proper one' and no I havent been to a race meet and dont ever plan to.
