View Full Version : help your handling??????
i was told that early corsas have longer lower arms than novas there fore if fitted to a nova these lower arms would give you possitive camber and make your corner entrance speeds and exit speeds quicker. is this true i fitted this to my car it feels more responsive has any one else done it???????????????????????????????????????????????
it will be negative camber, not positive camber
yes it would be good
but bear in mind that the driveshafts will be extended a bit more, so could be prone to "throwing"
Ideal rule of thumb competition camber is 1.5 degrees negative ( bottom of wheel further out than the top so wheel looks as tho it leans in at the top) This will give best overall handling but may result in unacceptably rapid tyre wear on the inside of the fronts tyres for road use. Your call as to what suits your style best.
Another useful mod is to add rose jointed tie bar kit which allows you to increase caster ( moving the wheels forwrd to the front of the car) This will improve steering precision and turn in on corners. All this will effect toe in or out so you need to re-set that as well. I found neutral or just slightly toe out is best for steering stability. Toe in makes the car feel skittish on the front and like it wants to trip up over itself.
You can measure camber yourself. Get the car on a very smooth level surface eg- polished concrete floor and get a large set square up against the tyres
