Performance wise which is the better. Which is the easiest to tune?

Any input would be appreciated as am considering buying another nova soon and need information

the sri has the best performance in standard form but you can tune both of them roughly the same, i'd say go for the sri though

how come? I know that most people go for Twin 40's on the SR but what do people do to the SRi?

I've heard that the head on the sri is good can anything be done with this?
Also heard about people using 1.6 parts any ideas?

Erm... Not too sure, in standart SRi is 'better' (carb against injection) however if you are planning to tune it up and maybe to put dual 40's then to be honest it doesnt metter. 40's are more efficient then injection perfomancewiese!

So whatever turn you on really... 8) I love carbs though...

i'd go for the SRi, only cos i've got one :D

as been said you could go for Twin 40's or you could get throttle bodies :o

how much would I be talking for everything needed for T40s?

Ste Sri? What kind of cars can you keep up with beat? What does it top out at?

SRi is the way to go 8) twin 40s on an SRi will give ya better gains that twin 40s on an SR. Its to do with the inlet port shape on the head

i don't really race it, don't see the point on roads, would love to take it on the track tho

its hits the limiter in 5th, and goes off the clock but as we all know, Nova clocks lie :?

i got a 92 and its de-catted went through an MOT no problem

try an get the one with the tilt and slide sunroof... i got the liftup version and its shit, had the tilt version on my old sri and it was much better

check the vinal down the side, it hides rust quite good

i'd go for the pipercross, had a k&n, it bolted straight onto the throttlebody and sucked in hot air from the engine, my pipercross sits just behind the headlight, so it gets less heat

i've got a de-cat pipe, straight-thru center and magnex backbox and i love the sound of it 8)

i go for a cam, headwork and chip maybe - if you gonna go for twin 40's i wouldn't bother with a chip, i go for a race cam, headwork and the 40's

i think i'd try and get my current exhaust on its a full system from ashley inc de-cat was meant for a 1.3sr then they modified it to fit a 1.2carb which we made it fit my 1.2i with a corsa downpipe :?

Personally i'd go for a Sri, put a full system (de-cat) on it and get a sports manifold and a nice induction kit. And if you fancy spendin more cash on it get a cam.

That should then go well for you, my mates sri is faster than alot of Gsi's.

My 1.3 sr is faster than a standard Sri and standard GSI/GTE.

Prob Faster than a standard Corsa GSI aswell.

no but you are talking the same money to get an sri to that spec. so why not get a cheaper sr in the first place. Plus the insurance is cheaper.
