looking at about ?550 for the base model (unless you get a great 2nd hand price) + ?150ish for a loom (unless you DIY). there are cheaper alternatives about, but you do get what you payfor

you can then ditch the air flow/mass meter and run a single TB on the gsi inlet.

also you can go dis pack to have better controlled spark and so on

but unless your engine is rather well tuned there is no point going for aftermarket engine management.

chuck up your engine spec (or planned engine spec)

the other way of looking at it, is to fit the ecu first (like you would a superchip), then tweek the map everytime you do new mods.

here you go mate :D

Engine: 1600i fully rebuilt engine ported an polished head mached and skimed, uprated kent cam with vernier pully, power bost valve, K and N, uprated three padle helxi clutch, bosh super 4s, bosh leads and full sportex zorst with four branch manifold and a three inch tail pipe, samco hoses braided hoses custum made cam belt cover, bailey header tank and lots of polished alloy bits. running around 145 bhp

dont think you will be running 145bhp with that mate.

maybe if you got a mappable ecu, the standard ecu will be very confused with what its doing with that set up. and i dont think a super chip is the answer.

i had a race with a clio 16v they run at 135bhp this 1 had some stuff done to it and i left him standing so i guestimated around that but it seriously needs tuning

benji

mine is about even up 1/4 mile with a 16v clio and it is 110bhp.

i doubt you have more than 130bhp without changing the intake or valve sizes

ye sumint like that as i say i gusetimated. do you no where i can get dta from

go to the jenvey site (www.jenvey.co.uk) then look under engine management.
Why DTA, have you considered MBE or OMEX or Emerald??

www.dtafast.co.uk

or from racecar.co.uk (might be .com im not sure) there is a good forsale forum of race parts etc and ecus come up on that

and i wouldnt even use an omex ECU on a bog standard 1.2 engine lol they are just too low end of the market to be properly good. same as lumenition.

Hello, I run DTA on my 1.6 8v Turbo.

Im considering, selling all my DTA equipment and Turbo bits very shortly.... so if your interested look on the forsale Section in a week or two.

(selling to fund very expensive engine bits, NOT because im giving up the small block 8v's  )

Fair play for wanting to improve your car but just so u know this isnt just a simple bolt on and run mod - its pretty technical and designed for professional engine tuners to use to help them extract performance out of race and competition spec vehicles.
I dont know your level of expertise but judging from what you have a said on here I would seriously advise you to get professional help with this project else its likely that it will be a frustrating and disappointing experience for you. In any event its gonna cost a lot more than just the cost of the ECU

its expensive but worth it in the long run, also you can then upgrade to tb,s later if you want as you have the most expensive part,

with your spec you will prob be running just over 100 bhp at the fly, the standard injection wont allow much more than that really,

The Group A novas ran 150BHP at the fly on std injection, so if they managed it, but then you need cosworth pistons and some other bits and bobs, the std inlet manifold is restrictive to about 150BHP limit, bar forced induction.

2.0 16v injectors aswell

yeh and i think they could not bore it out, and had to use the standard exhaust manifold. that is impressive figures all things considering.

Yeah also the super hatch calss novas ran that kinda power too on cast inlet and exhaust manifold :O
But those engines had mega bucks spent on them

chears guys you been a grate help ive got an idear now on wot i would be doing its all worth it on my 1600

true but the ecu was not standard so its not standard injection really, i think they removed the afm too

they also used standard valve sizes

the airflow meter gets removed when you get new manegment anyway

They (gp a) run MBE management. No lambda just inlet air temp sensor.
