as above is every valver like this with heavy steering or is this just mine which means somethings wrong
cheers
Check your tyre perssures are up to scratch first. But yesh putting an extra 100Kgs ver the fornt wheels could be making things a little more difficult.
mine is slightly heavier from the gsi engine. but i can still drive with one hand and thats turning slowly too.
if you cant do that, then as suggested. check tyre pressure and pos the suspension.
What size wheels are you running?

tyre size and pressure are a factor but the heavy valver engine is the main thing. huge weight difference
you might only be used to turning a 1.2 around maybe and havn't gotten used to it yet lol :D
You should try a qwikrack then, even with my 1.4 16V it's very heavy at low speeds, defo a two hand job for 3 pt turns. Can't imagine how bad a 2L would be. :o

im running 15,s with a 49 off set tyre pressure is ok i know some novas differ from others but it was previously a gte and it is a lot heavier on the steering deffinatly not a 1 handed job.
the suspension is a 50ml drop on spax shocks and springs the only thing i have noticed is the drivers side seems to be lower and stiffer than the passenger side i thought this maybe due to most of the lump being on this side as it was all ok with the gte engine in maybe im wrong
please let me know
cheers
i have 16's mate, 40mm drop and i do use one hand to turn the wheel.
think you need to go the gym or something then.

whats a quick rack
A quick rack reduces the amount of turns it takes "lock to lock" It will be even heavier than usual, so do not go for a quick rack if you are struggling with it as it is.

You haven't got a smaller than standard size steering wheel by any chance have you? Cause this will also amplify the problem.

Well as sean said about his, same with mine it feels slightly heavyer but no reall arm killer, get it to the place/people that done the conversion and aske them to cheak it,or if you converted it to valver, then ask someone els
Sorry you know what i mean..
scott
You could always undo the preload sping on the underside of the rack to reduce the friction on the rack itself, this may help a bit.
