black - switched live
green - rev counter
brown - ground

should be self contained apart from them

You need the green and a thin black from the module to the coil to make a spark.

Id just been told that you needed a coil n dizzy from a 1.4 - might put the original back on as the 1.4 has a week spark

WTF you said you have the coil and dizzy and why swap them if the old ones work, assuming they work as you say you are changing them back again.
TBH if it don't work with the guidlines given on here then it is broken!

I swapped them as I was told I needed to (1.6 gsi engine on 40's), after swapping them the coil has a week spark (thank you all for the wiring help tho) and now I have been told I could have used the original (which was working fine) so i will swap them over again, sorry if ive confuzed anyone

Yeah I had a weak spark when wiring mine in, I think there is a thin blk from the car loom that needs to be wired into the loom somewhere, if you have the old one that worked then use that as they are all the same ish, look different, connectors different, modules different but still use the thin blk and green.

P.S. Ste that is a very good piccy, is it from the adverts in the day when they were new?
