So a cam that is meant for a 1600-2000cc opel CIH engine would be no good to me whatsoever? Any way around it?

I think when opel refered to there engines as CIH it was the type before our 8v OHC engines, such as the ones in the manta and very early cavs. I know they're all basically CIH engines but different types.
So i imagine it would'nt work as the rocker, valve alignment would of been different in the CIH head.
