What?s the best gear box to E16SE the original one is F13/5 cr but at 5ft gear it cut the revs...
Is any one better than this?

You mean it is tall geared in 5th? Or a big jump from 4th to 5th?

It?s like this mate when my car goes into 6800 in 5ft it?s game over lol...
no more speed...

umm you mean you hit your rev limiter in 5th.

so what thats pleanty fast enough lol

if you dont mind losing a bit of acceleration then fit a 3.74 final drive and that will bring your top end up a bit/lot while keeping the close ratio box

erm stu, the gte cluster had the 3.74 as standard mate

its all abit of give and take. Think the problem is that most 5th gears in vauxhall boxes are enconmy (spelling?) gears, meaning it has'nt got enough puff with the long gear to hit the rev limiter in 5th. its just to save fuel with the long gear. So what i mean by give and take is in theroy a low FD like the 4.18 will let you reach the rev limiter, but won't get as much top speed

I don't understand what he wants, to have a longer gear box cos it hits the limiter in 5th?

I think thats it, he wants a longer gear ratios, so when he's on a top end run the gearbox won't top out at whatever speed the F13 tops out at (119mph?) Would he be looking at an F15 box?

I/We have had an F13 with 3.74 diff to 131mph and still no limiter, close to though

what i mean is, if you have longer gear ratios are you going to have the power to reach near the limiter in 5th? Cause alot of vauxs don't unless they've got alot of power, ecomny gear

Yeah what i ment was a longer gear ratio.

You will need a longer final drive then, smaller number IIRC than 3.74.

You may also notice it is a CR box, see if vaux did a WR F13 box, prob with a 4.?? or higher fd to compensate, a bit of mix and match you got a WR with 3.74 fd :D

Look at the end of the box to determine which fd it has.

This may help too:
