i went an brought a 1.7td astra. cn pick them up cheap now
cheap fuel, cheap to insure (td is less to insure that straight diesel!!)
an will seat 5 people comfy with boot space too!

neil if you are serious about re-shelling the nova please listen to this!
swap the 17's for a crappy set of 15's or sommant put your money from the run about in to buying the shell,
over the winter do up the new shell then start of next year swap everything over.
use the car with the 15's for this winter as it won't matter if you curb a wheel or have a small crash as you'll have a new shell!

Just thinking if i want to re-shell or even keep my nova thinking of getting rid of it all.

Maybe going for something different, time to seriously think about money and if i want to keep ploughing it into the nova.

Nah im going to move on, too much money has gone into the nova, will be breaking it for parts. then moving on, will always love my nova and enjoyed the four years ive had it, but four accidents is too much and re-shelling will cost too much.

re shell mate

find a shell an swap everything over,
for the money of a differnet shell will probably out weigh the money you'd loose selling an accident damaged nova

main cost of a different shell would be buying & painting it
but find a shell that looks ok or one that doesn't need re-spraying just change the bits over.

pro's would be
you can pick up a cheap engine blown nova for not much
it won't matter if you have another small crash over the winter
you'd save money by not buying a good running car + insuring it

I'm confused - you say you want to move away from Nova's, fine, no problem there. But you want to spend ?1000 on "a runaround" - wouldn't it be better to put the ?1000 towards whatever car it is you want rather than spend it on a winter runaround?

Ok ill re-phrase my question,
I'm wanting to spend about ?1500 on a new car, not a nova.

Been thinking about a 1.8 16v corrado, insurance isn't that expensive.

dan_mk1

If your gonna get a corrado do it properly and get a vr6! get a loan if you cant afford it! lol

broody

LOL nice one marty.

Look neil if you can find a mint corrado like the one in your pic for ?1500 then fair play mate, but i think you wold be better off spending more then that,as i would of thought most corrados in that price range would be of pore standard..

So as the saying go's you get what you pay for..well most of the time

Why not going to Prague and treating yourself to some hand-shandies or some 'gilrfirend-sex'? It may stop the constant ''single'' and ''gf wanted'' posts. lol
