Hi my rear bumper mounts have rusted away (the ones that hold it against the rear wings) (mk1 ?the mk2 is different here!).

These mounts are on the bumper itself and don?t appear to be replaceable (without a new bumper) my friend said ?just put a bolt through it? ?this I am quite tempted to do but I would like to keep it reasonably neat (although it doesn?t have to be as my car isn?t anything flash, but it is in good condition)

-Any ideas or photos on the best way to do this?

same thing happened on my gte!!

i think you can replace the metal brackets. just go to a scrapy and get them off another nova.

i did use cable ties before but im sure the correct fixing will work better.

Use Coach Bolts if you do just bolt it on, these have plain round heads with the hex bit hidden beneath the head. Look ok when theyre on.

a mates Rally Slag Nova - bumper secured at sides using coach bolts.

My car - front bumper is held on ONLY by 1 bolt either side through the bumper into the wing. No steel insert at all has been used.

- the metal brakets are attached to the bumper by the bumper been melted to secure them on -hence why i dont want to change them,

-thanks for the pics of bolted bumpers

-if i use zipties where am i best routing them? im sure i can figure it out, but if some1s done it before then experience is always a good thing.
