1.4 SR gearknob

I know it doesnt sound that technical, but how do u remove the plastic thing the gearknob comes off, ive only ever seen them on Mk1 1.4SR novas, they also have a thicker shaft bit (thats sounds sick lol). I need 2 remove all that so i can get alloy gearknob on

I found tugging and twisting your knob helps :? if not you could always take a saw to it

yup its just a plastic sleeve, and to get the knob off i kinda stood over it and pulled like a twat , then you will hit your head on the roof as it comes off but hey, you win some you loose some lol

did mine on sunday ended up cutting it off with a hacksaw..its the quickest way...

cheers for the advice lads it was actually for me coz the knob is crap and the gears are also crap. why do novas always cause so many damn problems,its not good at a busy roundabout(berkeley) to be precise when u cant change into 2nd and a bloody van coming fast towards you:S scary if u ask me.im still not that experienced!!!!
ace in town tho ppl hear my nova, look and expect to see a lad.so funny when they realise its me hehehe!
