over revs like mad when rallying

please help

i just got my 20xe running and driving in my nova

but whenever i try to give her a bit of welly and slow down again
the engine over revs like mad for a couple of mins but when i drive normal she idles perfectly so whats going on

please help if you can

idle control valve sounds sticky

yeah whip it off, carb cleaner it, light oil it, then actuate it 12v one way then other, then more oil refit. job done.

yeah deffo sounds like the icv, when it does it try popping the bonnet and squeezing the pipe on the right bottom side of the sfi box to restrict the air flow a bit, (or your clearly not kicking its **** in enough) :lol:
