N e one seen the new vid for "blinded by the lights" thats been banned b4 11pm? saw it for the first time last nite, and it is probably the most horrible video i have ever ever seen...

Here is a quote taken from a review...

"The video shows Streets frontman Mike Skinner drinking and taking drugs before he's beaten up and left in a pool of blood. His friend is shown using a mobile phone to film himself receiving oral sex."

when i heard the lyrics on the radio thought it sounded a bit dodgy and was surpised it wasnt banned too

All it boils down to is they want greater sales of their records, so they make it as 'contraversial' as possible, try and put it on a PC show like Radio 1 and oh, suprise suprise, they refuse to show it and 'ban' it. ie they will not play it because it doesn't fall into there normal listening selection. Thus because its 'banned' it becomes sort after and sells more copies.

Prime example of films at the moment is Saw, although the BBFC has passed it relatively uncensored so the filmmakers are probably pissed at its 'mainstream' release as I'm sure they wanted The Exorcist cult status.

An example of 'underground' selling out. Tut tut its been done for the last 40 years. Frankie goes to Hollywood anyone? I don't think it harmed his sales did it?

i was kinda hoping the video wud have been in a dark dingy, proper sort of night club. not a wedding reception like hall do. other than that is it awesome; can't stop watching it- interesting. bit barmy at the end.
