1.4 SPI onto a 1.2 SPI & ECU

Guys just wondering if i can fit a 1.4 single point injection in place of a 1.2 single point injection? I have the 1.4i ECU as well. Is it safe to go ahead and fit them ? Will it offer me much more of a performance increase??

I can be done but will over fuel the engine being a 1./4 set up, this will cause increased fuel consumption and reduce perf because it will run rich, unless you have done anythign else to the engine to warrant the extra fuelling.

you will gain 10-15bhp at most. better off finding a 1.4sr lump. easier and cheaper and it will make 80bhp easily with only a couple quid spent on it

where as the 1.4spi ur pretty much stuck at 60bhp.

better off with a 1.4mpi engine... but will need wiring and a pump change

1.4mpi would be better but 1.4sr's are easier to come accross

i think hes on about fitting 1.4 spi suff in place of 1.2 spi stuff. in whcich case its a dumb idea
