sport box or trumpets

im picking up a pair of genuine sport 40s next weekend???????
i was wondering if any one would be able to tell me the benefits of using the irmsher air box or if its worth getting a set of trumpets (and gettin rid of me stereo :wink: )

you will need the trumpets with the airbox, and you will need them without it.

the airbox keeps the noise down a bit if you need the restriction for competition (and it kinda looks cool)

it was also fitted to increase torque. apparently

engine noise is not normally a problem as when the engine is not under load its almost silent, at 4k (the test rpm level) ive not even had filters for ages an mine passes every time

its 3/4 of your rev limit

I thought the Irmscher airbox bolts onto the carbs in a way that you can't have trumpets. :?

Proper trumpets with a rolled edge (like I've got! :wink: ) and smooth out airflow and draw in more air than just the carb by itself - so all the books say.
