TD Gear box fit my 1.2??

I recently, while kicking a 1.25 Fiesta Zetecc's ass, lost 5th gear and later, reverse. I know its the linkages that are gone but what i need to know is will a 15TDi Gear box fit on? I want a stronger box cuz its gonna need to be able to take plenty of abuse, is this the way to go or is there a better route?

Seeing as the Nova 1.5TD engine is an Isuzu made lump, i'd say that it won't fit, just get another f10 they're ok !

My mate ruined his nova 1.5TD cos he G'box broke n fecked up something else. so i'd say they r no better !

and just fit another F10 as previously said. since your engine wont produce 100ftlb's of torque you wont shear teeth!

Yup, a bog standard 1.2 carb, its got fancy tripple silicone ht leads and the 4 pronged spark pluggs. It was running 16inch wheels with 2 other passengers. I'm dead chuffed too!! It may seem hard to bellieve, but the 1.2 5 speed box is near impossible to find, over here all the 12 yr old joyrider wanna be's buy them, bar them and stock car race them. There's 2 Nova classes, the 1000cc and the 1300cc class. I CANT GET A PROPER BOX ANYWHERE!!!!

an F13 is not a "red top box"

its a small block box as fitted to 1.6 gte/gsi's and others

MMMMMMMMMM, isn't it!? What about a 1.6 Cav or 1.4 Astra boxs, again, GSi's and GTE's have found themselves on the stock car track or in the Quarry lakes.

the old vaux and gm engines (8 valve) are all isuzu design, just cos the diesel has it stamped in big dosnt mean its th eonly one.

and before nayone tries to say no, then goand read the performance four stroke tuning guide.

so as they are al made by isuzu or designed by them i shudnt see why they wont fit!

go to a scrapyard they should have them there, or look thorough local trading papers etc

Naw, seriously. here's what our local free adds paper says:
1989 VX Nova 1.2, 5 dr, no tax or test, for parts or repair. e300 ono.
e300 for a friggen gear box? a standard 1.2 gear box at that!!

i've got a td nova and the gearbox is a standard F13 box out a petrol and it works fine, i'm not sure the standard td gearbox's are stronger apart from they have longer ratio's so your petrol mite be sluggish with a td box in it!!

i'd a hard time finding a 1300sr box here in armagh, looked for one for ages, finally got one with a 4.18fd 5 speed. Where abouts are you in eire? There's a few 5 speed (fitted to 1.2s) boxes local here.

Donegal. Letterkenny to be exact. Think I've got it sorted now though. Gonna stick the TD linkages on instead. But I'm always on the look out for bits and pieces for my car, ie, disc brakes, anti roll bars, etc...
