feeling hot hot hot

recently after doing quite a few mototrway miles on my 1.4 hybrid my water temp guage has been going up just over 3/4's!! the fan kicks in just after half way.

but when i turn my heaters on, only mildly warm air comes out, if i rev it up a bit it gets a little warmer then is cold again while the water temp guage is 3/4's high.

on inspecting engine there are no water leaks so i dont know whats wrong with it.

normaly the water temp guage only gets too half way when i sit in traffic for 10-15min, other wise its sort of 1/3.

check your oil to see if its got white in it. Might have a head gasket problem.

Could it just be a faulty temp sensor?

Maybe just being a little obvious here but check to see if youve any water in the thing.... As Snowface says, could be a headgasket issue.

It will either be the headgasket, lack of water or the thermostat.

Hopefully the latter!!

Sounds like the thermostat in the side of the head to me, same was wrong with mine when I first got it, only it overheated royally and burst a hose and blew the head gasket!
