View Full Version : Rev counter in a k reg 1.2I merit Plus?
Hi,
Ive done a search but no luck...
I've just got myself a K reg Nova, 1.2i merit plus and found out my mates got a GSi dash going spare. Trouble is mine doesn't have a rev counter there by default, is it possible to fit one? will the gear box already have the wiring for it and its just the dash that doesnt come with it?
Cheers,
rarr

the rev counter has nothing to do with the gearbox.
if you want to fit one then what you need to do is run a wire from the ignition coil (mounted on the near side inner wing top, behind the light) to the back of your new set of gsi clocks!!
the wire should run from the bottom right hand conector on the coil. there should be four conectors on it the top two are being used. you use the bottom right. then route the wire anyway you want up to behind the clock set. if he still has the connecter block your looking for a light green wire to attach to. if not then there could be a single conecter behind the revcounter itself conect it there!!
someone may come on and say what number on the conector block is the revvy!!

ah right ok, i though it was a different sensor or something connected to the fly wheel
Sounds easy enough anyway.. best give the guy a ring
And you will have a battery meter, blue white from alternator IIRC.
And an oil pressure but this one you do need the sensor for.
yeah seem to have those already so hopefully they wont be a problem...
Getting full interior, seats and dash from a GSi for ?50 :)
you dont need the oil pressure sender from the GSi, if you retain your standard sender the gauge will read full pressure (if everything is ok) and the battery meter should function already
