lots of metal polish really - i used autosol and mine came up really good after a while, but needs regular polishing now otherwise it starts to corrode again.

Suppose if you where to do it properly, a polishing kit would have a mirror finish. You can get them on ebay quite cheap, a few different sizes and types of mops, rough compound for preparing and fine compound for finish and shinning. Takes a bit of time tough but would def worth it. Probaly best first to block it down hard with some 1000 grit wet and dry sand paper to get rid of any corrosion and scratches. Metal or alloy keeps its shine alot longer when done with compound polishing kits rather than stuff like brasso
