me and my mate are having an argument about the speeds of these two cars. i say that the sr will kick the arse off the escort, but hes thinks hes 100% positive that his shitty escort will beat my sr, NO WAY, what are your views guyz?

I would have thought it would be the nova sr, cos aren't ford engines usually underpowered, I mean, my mates crapi(I know it's fairly old) has a 1.6 engine , but the power output is only about 70bhp.

Garages sticking to their promises???? not likely!!! :(

Hey I have an escort but have had a 1.3 nova not bad car but i think the nova just wins it.

They are quck fuckers

well to be honest the nova will win but my old mark 4 escort 1.4 manage 0-60 (wiv three people) 12.5 sec and top speed 117 mph wiv 4 people there not that bad but still i think the nova will win

MK5 scorts are wank for speed.. a m8 has one with a wikkid 4 speed gearbox... and yes it's slow, if u rev it past 3500rpm it sounds way too scary. Nova's are SO much more urgent in power delivery, throttle response and actually sound quite nice @ high revs.

the nova will win and if it doesn't thats cuz it's running on 1 cylinder (if thats possible :))

Escorts stopped being anywhere near decent when they stopped making the MKIV

They have that crappy HCS rattley thing under the bonnet....hatefull hatefull things! OHV and Push-rods :O
The 1.4 versions use the better CVH OHC engine.

The SR will whip it's ass!

the KA still has a push rod engine! Lol, but i guess they wouldnt be doing it if it wasnt semi decent for them.

Yeh...it's an ok engine in the smaller models, like the KA and Fessy.

My Sister's got a MKIII Fessy 1.1, which is a smaller version of the 1.3 in the aforementioned.
It's fine in that 'cos it's a small car......dyer in the scort though!

Pity really, 'cos the old Kent engines were mint......push-rod OHV but that didn't matter, 'cos they were still mint!
They were quiet too, not rattley like the newer HCS.
