Are all GTE engines the same

I was always led to believe that all GTE engines are 1.6 mpi but is this true? Was talkin to someone today and he says the early ones were carbs?

Well i've NEVER heard of a carbed 1.6 nova gte, but you may get the same lump but on a carb in a 1.6 astra ( i think).

no 1.6 nova came on carb, some peope have put 1.6 carb engines out the cav in since they were made put thats the only way you'll get one on carb. Or if you change on to twin carbs of course :D

they did not make a GTE with a carb!! but i think that the early ones ran bosch mangagment and the later ones used seimens like a gsi. but no carb on a gte for deffo.
