How much should it cost for a reputable vauxhall performance place to put a 2.0 16v engine in my gsi?

OR a 2.0 16v turbo??

would you trust anyone on here to do the conversion or does it have to be somewhere like courtney or regal?

so far as i know: (all drive in drive out jobbies)
1.6 turbo conversion; ?3000
2.0 16v xe; ?5,000
2.0 turbo; bit more than xe, as engines are dearer to buy. ?6,7 000??

those are as i say all done for you at regal/courtney like places. top prices. can get cheaper though.

At justnovas the basic price is 5000 but that is with a recon engine, fully welded and painted engine bay, coilovers, 2lt brakes, driveshafts, competition engine mounts, brand new exhaust modified to fit. Thats if you bring us a standard car and it will basically be a complete different car afterwards. With it being a GSI then things like fuel tank an that wont need to be changed so will bring the price down and if you were to opt for different suspension or sort that out your self then the price will come down.

I would take ste up on this offer. Fit a XE rather than a LET unless you have bottom less pockets. A LET will cost you about ?1k for a engine, ?50 for a F20 gearbox + another few gearbox's if you decide to fit a F20, ?250 for drive shafts, ?300ish for a forge universal front intercooler, ?400ish for welding on the front end bashing of chassis leg and painting it again and ?100 for a HH strengthening kit.

A XE is ?350 max, F20 ?50, driveshafts you would be ok with cav inner CV's and gte shafts and if the shell is a good clean one then there is no need to weld it.

If you want to fit a F28 gearbox which IMHO is the only one worth going for with a LET then your looking at another ?350 for a gearbox and a couple of ??? to have a mount welded in to the engine bay. 6th gear down the motorway is so much better as the engine ios not revving anywhere near as much.
