Well after much pissing about i got up nice and early this morning with the intention of driving my nova down the road  First thing i did was bleed the brakes and check for leaks and there were none, then i hashed up a rad mount from some zip ties to stop the rad moving back onto the turbo, threw in a seat and off i went, no wings, no bonnet a digi dash chucked in so i cud tell the speed and i have to say fuck me its going to be worth the wait when its all mapped up and running right  :o Pulled like a bitch with loads of wheel spin as i aint bothered wiring in the rear wheel speed sensors yet. It was so much better than the standard LET setup, goes some of the way to justifying the ?10k the engine build, turbo, management, shocks and other parts has cost  Fuck me i love it. Rick

This is a few shots of it from the other day. Shud not be long off been 100% done now but its not going on the road till the first show of next season now as there is little point taking it out with all the salt on the roads. Been speaking to a few people about mapping it and hopefully thats all sorted now, shud be getting the final map done next season with just a little bit of mapping done between now and then to enadle the engine to run well and run it all it.

You mean the front or rear arches? Rear are going to have some inner arch mods and probably some proper coilovers fitted like the front ones over winter to go reet low. Front have been rolled flat but are going to be flared out slightly and possibly cut higher so the wheels can turn! Going to have that sorted in the next few weeks. The suspension is very stiff and hardly moves at all, handles like a go cart but it would be shit for day to day use.

really nice motor, just wish I had the patience to do a project like that. Mine seem to get pushed to the back of the garage until I get a sudden urge to crack on (which doesnt usually last long). Looking forward to seeing it

Glad to see its coming along Rick. I had mine on the road too today, taxed, mot'd etc. Picked my girlfriend up in it and she hated it, lol. Oh well, just means less weight in the car :)

Can't wait to see it at some of the shows next year, and I want you take me for a spin in it! ;)

funny you should say that Jim...

my mrs hates my minter of a Nova...

but then when I'm down the local cruising spot in town doing a lap I say to her 'do you like that?'...(pointing to the biggest pile of 'modified' crap, example, 1.1 saxo with lexus lights, Rage backbox, sunstrip that says 'motorsport' that is bright red with white writing, neon washer jets, and headlight eyebrows) and shes like 'oh yeh, i like that its lovely!'...

women ay  :)

anyway, yeh Rick meant both arches really as that it well low!

looks good.

i had the exact same thing when i went to trax last year. she hated novas manly mine. I wasnt allowed to go look at the novas at the show and everytime we went past a saxo or fiesta with some gay stuff on it she'd say"wow isnt that nice, alot better than yours"
Plus she couldnt grasp the concept of putting a big engine into small none expensive car then racing some toff in a porshe an making him cry, she really couldnt grasp it. In her eyes a car was good if it cost lots of pennies an once its 3 years old its shit.

Im no long with her any more

that is awsome. really good job you have done there, if it were me the next thing id do would be to get the running gear from a cally 4x4 or cav and throw that under the thing, 4x4 nova would be dam class,

or you could go the simpler way and rwd it with mk2 escort running gear

It has been thought about but it means i would go up against 1000 bhp Skylines, 800bhp evos and 750bhp cossies at TOTB so its been discounted on those grounds! Rick
