right all, i want to lower my car 40mm and i want to know if just getting the springs is advisable? or should i get the full kit. the reason being is that i dont have a lot of money to spend and if i was to get the kit, it would be a lot longer before i can afford it. so what would the disdvantages of just geting the springs be?
please advise
Matt
The shocks are also generally lowered and stiffened/adjusted/played with to match the springs, why not get a second hand set of good kits like Bilstein or leda, these generally have had harsh lives but are built to last and work properly.
Failing that do a search as kits are avaliable from around ?200.
I have a mate running -60 on some -40 shocks and they seem alright. It's a confortable ride but he still running 60+ sidewalls on tyres.

thats what i thought id have to do, but at the moment my budget doesn't stretch as far as ?200 (no where near infact) i was just thinking about getting the springs as a temporary thing, and them at a later date (when i can afford it) get the shocks aswell.
is this not realy an sensible thing to do then?

you can rung lowering springs on standard shocks but the ride quality will be s**t and the shocks won't last long as i've heard the extra force on the skock wears them out quickly. go on ebay, there's always cheap suspension on there
