lost plate

ive lost the black and silver plate that is attached to the front panel. the 1 with the chassis number and engine number on etc and ive been told the car wont pass its MOT without it. Ive searched everywhere for it since it was removed whilst replacin the front panel!

Could i get another 1 from vauxhall? Wot can i do? :(

yeah i think you can get another made mate as ive seen carbon fibre ones which look good

you 'should' find the chassis number in between the drivers seat and the sill, under a flap in carpet, and weights etc just post on here your model and someone will tell you what is on theirs, also there is the colour code which i'm sure someone will tell you

well here we go with the answer to this question.
my gte had the very same prob.

i went to my local vaux dealer in the end. they send away for the plate to be made.
they need the following:-
insurance certificate
driving liscense
log book
and police check on the vehicle (scary bit that one, cop said he would impound the car if he wasn't happy with it)

oh and ?56 plus fitting. they wont let you fit it either. incase yo fit it to another nova etc.

all in, it cost me ?80 for the vin plate.

more then it cost for the rest of the bits for car to pass mot.
