my mate did this in his escort, jus keep tryin with the hacksaw (maybe get a stronger/sharper blade?) as thats the easiest way the do it.
Other than that you could use a  grinder  lol
why not use an angel grinder to cut it

dont use a big grinder or that will happen
just got one of them small dremel disks
were can u get them from?
places like homebase b&q ect
dremel multi tool bin out a good few years now
alright i think i know what they are. how much are they?
bout 30-50 quid i think not too expensive peronaly id just use the grinder
Mine took 5 mins with a hack saw blade, dont waste your money on a dremel thing just get a sharp/new blade!
don't be a wimp.. just use some effort for christ sake !
takes 2 seconds with a hacksaw and mine was as blunt as a hammer.
jst make sure u got long arms if your cutting it down alot!

didn't the door handles work
yer i got a grinder but i think i'll just have another try with the hack saw,
just giv it a bit more welly!
yer i got fairly long arms.
and i just put a touring style gear knob so it sits up pretty high any way so i just gotta chop it down a little.
cheers guy
Once you've started cutting with a blade, just drop a touch of oil onto it/cut and it will cut alot easier.
