My first ride in a GTE

I went in a Nova GTE for the first time the other day i've only driven a 1.2i and had a quick go in a 1.4sr but was really impressed with how rapid the gte was. It had been tuned abit with cams superchips etc and was certainly quick.

I remember when i went out in a gsi for the first time. It felt so much better than my SR.

This one had a cage and buckets with harnesses too was really impressed how it handled I've never dreamed of pushing mine that much. Was also my first time in a mk1 8) (well it had a mk2 front end)

but did enjoy driving chis's xe a couple of months back that was very rapid

I remember driving a nice Mint GTE about a year back, really wanted to buy it but didnt have the cash.

It was low mileage, and drove like new. Loved the power, and it just felt sooo much better than any other nova i'd driven.

i drove the GTE for the first time on PV03 day in our local supermarket car park. Loved it, VERY fast considering i'd only ever been in a 1.1 festa and 1.2i nova.

and guess what? yup, bought it earlier this year :wink:

I was quite surprised by the power of the GSi the first time i drove it. I just didn't expect it to have as much punch as it does. A very pleasant surprise.

The first car i ever drove was a stripped out mk2 escort (white) when i was about... i dunno... 8 or something like that. Just about able to reach the pedals i was given a brief drive in 1st gear on a big field at Flamborough Head (spelling) near Bridlington...

After that it was a long wait until i drove my dads Mitsubishi Galant down some country lanes in cambridgeshire somewhere.

My first drive was a Land Rover T5 Turbo about 7 months ago, then brought my nova a couple of months later. Learning in a Corsa XSI, which compared to my humble MK1 is a f***ing Skyline (R34 GT-R). Not that I've driven one.

Love my nova though, bloody good drive seeing as its an F plate.

mine was when i was 14 between 14-17 ive driven (in order) mk2 1.4sr 1.6 cavalier, 2l cavalier, fiat uno :lol: nd a 1.2 nova

first nova i drove was my own... at the time an immaculate 1200 with 38K on the clock, bless it..

First car i ever drove on the roads was a mk3 fiesta Si 1600, then a 1.8 sierra estate....

First gte i drove was fresh out a hedge (literally :S) and still went well.. lol

First car I drove was Lada model 1! God, its the same as fiat! Its been so long ago!... The first real car I was properly driving was 5.2 liter Ford Bronco 3 door one! And then my little nova 1.2 here in the UK! Huge difference between 1.2 and 5.2! :)

Wait till you go in an XE'd nova,if you think the gte was fast youll shit yourself.

i know i can't wait the Gte I went in, the lad might be puting in a 2.0 8v making 170bhp shold suffice for time being :roll:

went for a spin in my first GTE last week.

It had a bit of a helping hand in the gearbox (4.53 CWP :lol: ) but fcuk was it quick.

and with BigRuss driving...fcuk me, I was making buttons, lol

fair do's ppl Russel pulled of one of the best handbrake turns I ever seen!

but yeh, it was impressively quick for a 1.6 8v.

fuck knows what 150bhp upwards must feel like in a Nova with someone who can drive behind the wheel!

I got to drive the GTE the other day :D the lad is already thinking of fitting a 2.0 8v in it and he said he'd put the GTE engine in mine

first time i took my xe out for spin from the unit i spun up in the first 3 gears an had it pulling my into oncoming traffic. It quite scared me but still put a smile on my face. But now im bored of it an its not fast enough now im used to it
