what would need machining

what would need machining

the part of the hub that goes into the wheel bearing, but also I thought that the splined part of the CV joint that goes into the hub is a bigger diameter, but there is probably an oddball one that would fit

Or can you use the GTE shafts and cav joints the other way around to the usual on a 2l conv to avoid having to machine anything?

Wheels will look good too.

youd still need to machine the big block hubs i belive to fit the bearings

Can you not use the bearings in the hubs and the CV joint and mate this to a GTE shaft?

Opposite of using the Astra inners and GTE outers on conversions i guess.

i should be ok then now with the front if i have to get them machined i will

also someone told me you need a plate to do the rears has any1 done a rear disc conversion using cavy gsi brakes or the same kinda setup do you need any kind of plate

Yeah i've always loved Cavalier turbo rims as well. Decided it was easier to sell the nova and buy a cavalier turbo instead. Nearly did a straight swap!!!

Alrite, kinda half way through doing it on mine,
Used Vectra V6 hubs, stub axles, discs & calipers for the rear, pretty much same as doing a normal rear disc conversion you've just gotta chop & alter a few more things !! you'll soon see when you do it !!!
For the front i'm using Calibra Turbo hubs & Grp A wheel bearings (which have a bigger inner & outer diameter than a std Nova bearing), you gotta get the steerering knuckles machined out to accept the bigger Grp A bearing but then the Calibra hub pretty much fits straight in without machining loads of it (which weakens it).
I think you can buy 5 stud hubs already machined to fit in to std Nova bearings from V-Tuning (?) but they cost ?145 each !!
Hope thats of some use ?
