Saw this on ebay - measures your BHP and 0-60 time etc etc, but i cant figure out how it would work. I am guessing it works from satellite signals because it has to be mounted to your windscreen :?

Has anyone on here seen/bought one? What are they like?

I would imagine that it calculates speeds by working out how much G-force is put under acceleration and how long it lasts for to determine 0-60. If this is the case then the BHP reading will not be accurate as it will be dependant of the cars gearing. My mate has a turbo timer in his impreza turbo that calculates his 0-60 time, but it reads something like 4.1 secs IIRC, and that is a standard car, so in his case not very accurate.

right ok...so it isnt worth me investing in one purely for the bhp reading and 0-60 time then.

might be cheaper to pay for a readout on the rollers and have a go at 0-60 at a show that you may go to and get nearly accurate readouts

This unique performance meter allows you to accurately measure your vehicle's performance. By measuring the acceleration force of the vehicle, the meter can determine; - 0-60mph time, 60-0 braking distance, standing 1/4 mile and terminal speed. Maximum braking and cornering force. Horsepower (requires input of vehicle weight). Ideal for practising of starts, checking engine tune and fine tuning of vehicle performance. MPH version.

did u read the small print??

This is fine for all the cars who's 1/4 mile E.T.s are above 7 seconds. If you have a car that's below 7 seconds you may experience inaccurate measurements due to clipping.

I cant think of many road cars that have a 1/4mile time under 7seconds :)

There are better versions that require not only the weight but also the drag co.e
