i would say they are gonna rub even if you cut the lip out on the arch. Ive seens novas on 17s dropped bout 60 and the tyres have been ripped to pieces and thats with the arches modified, but im sure if you get the correct offset you might get away with it.

as long as the offset is 49 or as close as possible to, then you should be fine after you've had the arches rolled/grinded off!

I run 17's with a 60mm drop, and dont have any probs.

But, the car is stripped of all back seats etc, therefore it aint that heavy, so it probably sits slightly higher than a 60mm drop with the back seats in!

It also is on coilovers, set to rock solid, with powerflex bumpstops, to reduce the body roll, so to eliminate the chance of scrubbing.

The only time it catches is on full lock to the left, when im parking or doin a bit of three point turn stylee!

(The wheels are a 45mm offset)

As long as uve got the arch lips done right
and u have as close to a 49mm offset(ud get away with a 45mm)
then u shouldnt have to much problems
might scrub a bit if uve got anyone in the back

Yep 17's would be no problem at all with a 40mm drop

my 16's scrubed like fcuk until me and epo ground the arches but then it would bottom out on corners at the front. the car is lowered 30mm.
not sure of offset. i think around 42mm and im running 205 tires

205 arent really nova friendly tires, my 195 rubbed so i would say that 17s will need some arch work

theres only one real answer for that question, if you put 17s on it will need lowering as it will sit very high
