View Full Version : FAO 1.3 twin 40 owners...
Have you properly timed your 0-60 mph? If so, what time did you get?
It's not for the sake of bragging so be honest!

i do it in bout 9. 1300, twin 40's, ast2 cam, ported polished. my bottom end and gearbox are well tired though. reckon i can shave a second off it when i get the bottom end rebuilt
Cheers. I was asking was because I did 9.67 at Trax and was dissapointed because the Sport's supposed to do it in 8.9 secs. I checked out the specs on some other 'hot' 1300s (inc. Swift GTI and 106 Rallye) and they're all around the 100 bhp mark and do 0-60 in 9.3-9.6 seconds.
I'm beginning to think that the Sport's official quote for 0-60 was a little -er - hopeful.
Anyway. I've stripped out the rear and I'm gonna get it RR'd. Should get it closer to 9 secs.
iirc the sports ran a different gearbox. What gearbox are you running?
On my 1400 with twin 40s i'm running a f10cr.
I'm running an F13C with a whiney diff. Wondered if that was slowing things down a bit.
I Didn't think F10C existed. What car was it from?
i beleave the sports were alot lighter than standard models as well mate, which will make them quicker
If you get it well set up with all the right parts and the right size chokes there is no reason why you shouldn't be below 7 seconds.

i'm pretty sure they are found on 1.4SRs

There is no such gearbox as an f10cr. all mk1's are 1.3 and 1.4's are fitted with an f10w but some mk2 1.4's and most 1.6's are fitted with f13cr
Guess again, I had an F10cr. I combined that with the FD from a f13wr.

That was a J plate 1.4SR.

i thought i had a f10cr on my 1400
pm me if you still have it.
from the way mine goes at santa pod and the things i've raced i would guess at around 7.5-8 seconds. a better box would bring it down some

i've got my haynes in front of me now. nova's only came with 4 different gearbox's
f10/4 wr
f10/5 w
f13/5
f13/5 cr
Don't believe the haynes.
CP and I stripped several boxes down and none of them tied up with the ratio's decribed in the haynes manual. In the Automobile industry its far better to know by experience than to know by reading.
