DO NOT have the inlet manifold polished!!!

it will lose you power, reduce the fuel economy and generally be a waste of time and money

Why is that cambridge!?

polishing the inlet tract causes the air flow to slow down at the manifold walls and a consiquensce of that is the fuel vapour drops out of the air as its speed reduaces. fuel puddles form in the manifold and you get a leaner mixture entering the cylinders

you want a slightly rough surface for the intake so it has turbulence and keeps the fuel in suspension with the air, and helsp give a better burn.

polishing the exhaust is fine, but not a mirror finish

That explains a lot! Cheers!

i refere back to my coment clearly lol. but as cambridge said not a good idea as the side walls are like they are to encourage turbulance to keep the fuel and air mixed. you could polish them if you turn the idle upto about 2000rpm lol
