Hi i posted a message about advice to buy which nova im glad to say that i have found a mint k reg, 1 owner, service history, Nova SRI wicked. Now i need some information coz my novas go a cat is there any problems which could arise from removing it (apart from MOT) also what sort of horsepower am i looking as standard and finally would it b faster than standard 1.3 , 1.4 SR's please let me know also anyone who has a nova sri post a message to let me know whether its possible to superchip it and whot mods are worth considering Cheers

fit nova gte/gsi (performance) center section to remove cat
cone filter with cold air ducting
and reset ecu

16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

Piss's on standard Sr's beats VTR's adnu can do alot with them!! Get a 4 branch manifold then an induction kit and a decent exhaust ( and ur jammin.

My SRi has been through 1 MOT with the decat on. It was before i bought it though and so might of been a dodgy garage. Get all the stuff that Ste said it will make a big difference. As for chipping it i'm waiting till i can afford head work and a cam. I will probably go for a Unichip though.

av got a chip in mine, it was in it when i bought it, some peeps say it doesnt do nothin in novas nut i would disagree, i have tryed it without the chip and it does make a bit improvment on fuel, throttle responce etc

get an Ashley 4-1 Branch manifold and get a ashely exhaust system. ask for a 1.6GSi back box (so you get the straight exit). only cost you about ?200 and is top quality performance wise.get a GSI pipercross filter to (about ?70)the acceleration curve shoots up above 3500 revs. When racing it dont be scared to keep accelerating till redline etiher my needle rockets at 5000 and the engine sounds great!!!, ive had my head ported n polished I'll tell you what the performance is like once I get it fitted. BTW if you get a 4-1 manifold you may loose the lambda sensor (depending on manifold chosen), if you do get it tuned and tell him you've removed it cause it'll run shit till you do. If you wanna keep it BTB do a manifold with lambda slot ?160. Get bigger breaks asap cause the GSI ones (even though the the later ones) are poo.

Im from essex thanx i will start by puting a full magnex exhaust sytem and a k n airfilter i had an ashley on my old escort it sounded the bo***cks but the finish was poor well better start saveing 4 those bits im picking it up friday ill let u know how it goes on im from essex by the way Clayhall

Nah sorry ballsy. the cars still on the road. How good is that chip?? I'm thinkin of gettin mine done of i don't change engines.
