It would be a straight swap for a already carbed car. The only wires are for the starter motor ect.. an they go on the same places for both engines
like phil sed straight swop ive got a cavvy 1.6 carb on my 1.3 and everything is the same

just curious - would the carb off the astra 1.6 fit onto the nova 1.6? as ive just bought a car with gte engine fitted but not running - i only know the original engine was a carb, and the lad couldnt wire for s**t
cheers

would have thought youd have to change the whole head with it as well as the ports will be different for the inlet

what shape are the astra ports? i know that the novas are round, are they arch type?

I used to have 1.6 carbed astra, the inlet ports are the same as whats on a 1.2 spi i think its the same as 1400 ports, the little square ones.
