ive had my sub up and running 4 ages now, i went 2 get an amp for my 6x9's today ad wired it all up, i noticed that the wire that came with the new amp was thicker so i connected this to my amp powerin my sub and the old thin cables to my new amp, the 6x9's work but my sub isnt so i checked the voltage gettin thru and it says 0.90 volts while my old cable is gettin 13.0.
is it because the wire is too thick or is it a dodgy connection, also the rca cable that goes to the bk of my head unit is givin out 12.0 volts is this right.

sorted it its all wired up them thick cables have stopped my sub distortin at high levels, its a lot louder, and i guess that the rca line in 12v but jus has a low ampage is this right.

any one going to translate this?

yes nova_172 the 12v remote with your RCA's is very low current, it is only used to switch on the amp so it doesnt flatten your battery when stereo is turned off

Do u people not use txt messaging.
anywayz the RCA cables are the left and right sound wires from your headunit to the input on the amp. these are about 5v.


also the rca cable that goes to the bk of my head unit is givin out 12.0 volts is this right.

the thin (blue) turn on wire will be 12v. but its not a rca its called a p.cont or remote.
