Is there anywhere i could find out this or does anyone no??
Nova Gsi, Standard Rev limit, 185/60/15 tyres.
went off the clock to an indicated 135mph.
I dont think its true
According to the 1993 vauxhall brochure. The F13CR is good for 109mph on the SRi and 118mph on the GSi.
The speedos do read incorrectly by a massive amount though particularly at the top end, which would explain why you saw 135.
a mate of mine had a cr box in his gte once and it would hit the limmeter in 5th at 115mph

Gunna say, didnt think an F13CR would be caplable of that speed.
allways thought they were geared for acceleration.
Did 126 mph shown on digital clocks. nearing 7000 rpm. Wasn't paying too much attention to the revs cuz I was concentrating on the road.
It's a gearbox. It'll go as fast as you make it go.

Wrong, the gearbox will dictate the maximum speed of the car dependant on the maximum revs of the engine.
On the GTE that I had it went 'off the clock' at around 6k.

That's kinda what I meant. Depends on how your engines tuned
Im pretty damn sure that my gearbox F10CR won't take much more than 115mph... I think it limits my top end?
I have seen over 120mph on the clocks, but In 5th it just hasnt got the pull that fourth has. obviously it goes quicker, but fourth just pulls strongly from abourt 50 to over 100....

127 is on the limiter for GSi motor and box. Well it hit the limiter and threw back to 120 lol

top speed on an f13, i'm runnin 195/45 15s and i've seen approx 140-150mph (back to the m in mph on th speedo) at just over 7000 in 5th.
It depends on what final drive is in the box. I run a 4.18 in a F15 (same 5th 1:0.89) and can hit 7750 which is 136 on 185/60R14's.

I've jst put my third F13 gearbox in my TD, and conclude alot of the box's are different! in the first box i had 120mph verifyed by a mate in his paxo vtr but the diff went so i had to change it, the second box was quick to accelerate but the top end was 105mph and a bearing went in the box so i have had to put this third one in and this is even quicker to accelerate but has a top end of 90mph which is a royal pain in the arse cause its revving too high and drinking diesel. so i've lost 30mph from the original box and been told its the gearing in the diff that makes the difference.
but heh im becoming an expert at changing F13 gearboxes.
thanx
Dave
I have a 3.74 final somewhere fi you want to up your top end, alternatively why not put a F10 in there??
