i wouldnt have thought so spanishfly, looking at the quartermile times as alex haines isnt that powerful and was very quick.

this is most powerful rather than fastest by the way cos the turbos would get easily beaten by the Naturally aspirated cars.

Alex Haines (yellow Nova 2.0l Turbo) was at Novatech this wkend (I think it was him anyway) He ran off the dyno clock (200) at the wheels running about 14psi although he reckons he is losing boost at present down to 10 . He ran on the rollers at Regal recently and saw about 260+ish at the flywheel for the first run. He then switched to higher boost and the graph of his power output is a right laff as it disappears right off the top of the page. He was putting out an estimated 290ish so he told us.

Alex Haines came to our rolling road day at powerstation in cheltenham which is regarded as one of the best rolling roads in the country by those in the know. It ran 208 BHP.
My m8 has the same engine and ran 214BHP.

I saw it also today, and the power was well over 200bhp at the WHEELS, and he had dyno printouts of the week b4 that CP mentioned.

I was at regal when Alex got his tested, i thought he got 228BHP. No problems with his motor.

and he did a second run with the boost switched to 14psi which made 285bhp.

At regal alax's nova on the second run gave 290bhp at 9000rpm, which was obviously wrong as it limits at around 6700rpm (or something like that).
He new it was wrong thats why he went to Novatech to get a correct reading at 14psi boost, but those rollers only go up to 200bhp.

Isn't it about time these rollers were zero'd up to some kind of nationally recognised standard? Generally they tend to read high to keep the punters happy and cos nearly every car that goes on them is modified to some degree or another so its not really poss. to say categorically that they are right or wrong. Also a there are 2.0l 16V turbo's and there are 2.0l 16V turbo's. You've only got to look at all the diff. Sierra cossie specs - 204, 220,224,370,430, 490+ hp.
