Ive just written off my escort so i decided to buy a nova but i cant afford a GSI because of insurance . So i was think of a 1.3 / 1.4 SR trouble is which one should i go for coz i ve seen a mint 1.4 but which is faster and is there any diffrence bettween the two Please let me know :)

1.4's are faster than a 1.3 (obviously) but the difference isnt that much. Your best off getting a mk2 because the rust situation is more likely to be better. Its up to you really though, mk1 (1.3sr's) have different bumpers, grill, headlights, interior fabric and and dashboards to the mk2's (1.4sr's) The heads on the 1.3's are slightly better however. Thought of a sri? these are 1400cc but instead of a carb they have injection, these have 82bhp as standard.

well tahnks i dont think ill get a sri coz my mate said there slower than the 1.3srs i cant get bigger than a 1.4 at the moment because of insurance so ill just have to make do with twin carbs which were going on my escort but should be destined to my new nova (hopfully when i get it also any info on buying advice would be appreciated thanks

ur m8 dont know every much then, hes been readin 2 many lax power mags!!! the 1.4 sri would piss on any standard 1.3/1.4 sr's

im doing a 1.4 turbo earlier in the new year when i renew my insurance. i'll let you know how it goes.
