just a quick question.
would any damage occur to the engine if it was kept in me garage over winter with no fluids in it?? (the engines not in a car)
cheers lads

I would have said to leave the oil in (or new oil) to prevent the moving parts inside from corroding.

Not sure if the water ways would corrode too though.

*edit*

I have actually just put a 1.6 8v in a mates car that he got from somewhere and written on the side was "oil drained ??/??/02" !!!

We just turned it over to run oil through and then started it, it ran with no problems exept the carb being 32/34 and from a 1.4.

My mate has had a calibra turbo engine in his bedroom for over a year now
He just puts oil down the bores now & then :D

Plenty of moisture about in winter,
garage's are cold so water in the engine will prob. freeze,
try wrapping it up in rubber underlay (for carpets)
