D'OH!

Just realised the version of nero that came with a CD writer I also bought for another computer had the DVD stuff on it.

New problem, I need a DVD ripper.

Anyone?

Clone DVD is the best for ripping originals, it ignores any type of protection and just copies what it sees.

Need the crack from gamecopyworld.com though. (and never upgrade unless you manually DL the new one and get a new crack fr it)

DVD shrink

definately the best choice, it unencrypts the dvds whilst ripping it and you can then reauthor them to get rid of the french or german subtitles etc, so the main film doesn't have to be compressed so much.

DVD Shrink is what is used by my friendly local pirate friends.

its ok. I realised that nero can save them to the hard drive anyway.

Thing is, most DVD films are bigger than 4.7gb though, so unless you use some kind of software to shrink them down, then you can't just straight copy them them.

With DVDShrink, it automatically uses the best compression for the main film and then compresses everything else so that it will fit on a 4.7gb DVDR. I have "backed up" loads of my films this way and not seen any loss of quality.
