Is it ok to use standard dampers with lowering springs. I no it is advised against, but would the car just suffer ride quality or is the problem bigger than that?

Well if you lower it and you've got big bumpers on it they may hit the floor when you go over bumps because you dampers will be quite boucy. It will also kill your dampers a lot quicker than normal because of the extra strain on them being lower (more compressed) so you'd have to buy new ones quite soon anyway-so might aswell get the whole lot now

Up to 40mm, you can get away with standard shocks, obviously uprated are going to be better.

60mm or lower, then uprated are advised as the shocks will die very quickly....

The ride will be shit, but low profile tyres and lowered car= crap ride quality anyway.

They are cheap enough to replace when they finally give in to the bumps. Also not a hard job to replace them.

also get -60mm cos -40mm just ins't pleasning enuff !
