just used a formula to work out the 0-60 of cars using there weight an power. I dont think that it worked out too good for me, it came out as 4 seconds sounds a tad optimistic at best. Im going to have a timed run at trax on sunday but just wondered if anyone had done theres.

theres a calculator that ges your 0-60 time from your 1/4 mile results, might be a bit more accurate.

Surely your time over a quarter mile cannot give an accurate bearing over what your 0-60 time would be?

If you did a 15 second quarter mile, it could be that your car is very quick between 60 and 100, but not so quick form 0-60... etc etc.

Don't see how that could possibly be a believable figure. just another generalisation.

woody go back to what you know lol :p

there is a farily "good" engine performance calculator about, you can adjsut the calibration a bit by giving it know results. its american so you have to know the car weight (plus driver) in lbs but its pretty good

im working on a model (thats a software model) to predict 1/4 mile times and 0- whaterver time farily accurately.

woody did have a point though. i mean the omega is crap till you hit approx 50 then it really opens up and flies. where as a nova might be great to 60 and then tail off a bit so the 1/4 mile time might be the same just the sectors were different.

Contradiction alert

That is what i meant though... your boat is the perfect example.

^^ just used that one it came out at 5.55 seconds, but its past 60mph that mine feels fast over the 1/4mile

5.5 seems a bit quick. can you beat a scooby off the line?

Mine came out at 6.66. I used my 1/4mile time rather than 1/8th time, mainly because i dont have my slips at hand so dont know my 1/8th times.

I,m running mine on the 0-60 at Trax too, we'll see how much weight, or rather the lack of it effects times :D

havent raced a scooby yet, although i did race a legacy down the strip and completely killed that.

my mate did 13.9 in his standard uk scooby. and they have a 0 - 60 of around 5.5

how can you relate a quarter mile time and a 0 - 60 time

i could be in a car that does 0 - 60 in to second but on has top speed of 70

someone else could be in one that does 0-60 in 5 seconds but can get to 110

this would not add up also what about your reaction time or is that already deducted from your quarter mile time im not sure about that

just sounds a bit fishy to me think using a stop watch in the car would be more accurate

only thoughts i may be wrong tho

A satndard Nova Valver can do 60 in about 6.5. This would reduce with LSD etc.

i used the calculator and mine came back at 8.1. Not bad

is that for your "standard" GTE

Ive raced a 2lt nova with an lsd down the 1/4mile i beat it by a second and about 10mph. Shall have to find out on sunday what it is.

Apparantly my old nova would do 0 to 60 in 4.82 .

Would have been nice to get it timed to be more accurate. But in fairness i think the 0 to 60 time would have been fairly decent . Mainly due to my ratios ont he quaife box having a long first and 2nd. Plus the lsd.

Who knows. i can dream! lol
