not hard at all, just straight swap for the old suspension. The difficulties you will face is rusted bolts and botls that decide to round themselves off. Apart from that it should be hard at all.

just spray the bolts with wd40 the night before then put copper greese on them after when you re fit them

i'm just going to go and collect my GMAX kit on monday.

Do you need spring compressors to assemble the new struts or get the top mounts off the old struts !?

or is it literally a straight swap by unbolting the struts !?

It depends on how your kit is - if it arrives and is already assembled with the springs and shocks together then you wont need to use spring compressors, but if the shocks and springs are separate then you will need a spring compressor to dis-assemble your old shock to get the strut top to use on your new shocks.
