not realy sure mate, my first guess was the Cv joint? does it knock when your on full or near full lock?
it could also be a loose component eg balljoint, have a look at it and see if anything jumps out at you.

It does seem to be really tight on full lock, does knock slightly also.

well if it made a noise only on full lock and not any other time theni would say CV joint!! but if it makes a noise over bumps and taking off then not intiarly sure. get it up on stands and have a wee look!!

Could be your alternator as you have probs with it, if its really bad the wheel bearing, jack the car up and wobble top to bottom.
Or your CV joint.
Probably your track rod end mate. Mine does the same thing! Could also be the front spring isnt on properly. Hope this helps 8)
Inspect all the rubber on your joints, if they are split or damaged etc thats where the noise is comin from.
Also check the top of your suspension strut in the engine bay. Mine was slightly lose and was causing a knocking noise when i went over bumps. It just needed tightening.

It was the CV boot, the gaitor had come off and all the grease had come out.
Repacked it and put the CV boot back on.
