Can someone tell me when the changes were for shells from 1ltr novas to GSi novas.

Like the GSI comes with strenghtening and the 1ltr doesn't.

Wanting to know if a 1.4 sri/1.3L/1ltr etc is different from 1.2 or 1ltr if you get what i mean.

Any info apreciated.

Neil

I know the suspension and brakes used on the GSi were also used on the SRi due to left over stock, but as for strengthening i dont know :?:

June 1991
Limitied edition 'Sola' annouced with 1.2 engine and 3-door body style.

I've NEVER heard of or seen one of these before-has anyone else?

Sweet! I want one :D

oh and the 1.4sr is heavier than the 1.3sr, could this be because of the shell being strengthened?

gte/gsi/d/td/sri have thicker bay metal and strut top reinforcers

d/td have extra metal under the gear stick area

later models have welded on check straps

early models had studs welded on for the rub strips

mk1s? only had 1 screw on each side of the dash

early cars had the wiper on he other side on the boot

i'm sure there is other stuff

MK1's are "easier" to work on with regards to seam welding since they didnt have any/much seam, sealer used.

and if you go for a reshell then you can make it as strong as you like with plating kits or even jsut making your own and so on.

if your just going for a new shell to be a nice car then it dosent really matter how much stronger it is than normal. but if your fancy making it a bit of a track/fast road car then you can bin wieght etc.

the earliest Nova's A-reg and B-reg were made of a better, more expensive grade metal and don't rust as badly as others later than them.

My first nova was a B reg and that was immaculate body wise-no rust on it anywhere, sold it a year ago this november though

I had 2 B reg novas and both were rust heaps!!! arches, front under bumper, doors, wings. I looked after the cars aswell, treated the rust, kept them clean, but they just kept on rusting!!!
